
Ingredients
2 small pieces tofu (about 200g)
2 stalks of spring onion
4 cloves of garlic
1 chilli
1 tablespoon of soybean paste
1 tablespoon of dark soy sauce
1/4 tablespoon of salt
1 tablespoon of sugar
50g minced meat
1 tablespoon of minced ginger
2 tablespoons of cornstarch (mixed with 1 tablespoon of water)
Some pepper
1/4 tablespoon of Sichuan pepper
Method
1. Cut tofu into cubes.
2. chop spring onion, garlic and chilli.
3. Combine soybean paste with 1 tablespoon of water, dark soy sauce, salt and sugar.
3. Heat 3 tablespoons of oil. Fry minced meat till separated and browned.
4. Add spring onion, ginger, garlic and chilli and fry till fragrant.
5. Stir in soybean paste then add tofu. Add 1/4 cup of water to cook over low heat for about 5 minutes.
6. Thicken with cornstarch water before adding pepper and Sichuan pepper.
Note: Soybean paste comes in both spicy and non-spicy tastes. Choose according to own preference.
